m_of_disguiseIt was already 80 degrees when I woke up yesterday morning, bleh. By lunchtime it was 92, and I texted M begging off coming home for lunch since we still don't have AC in the car, and I knew I'd be a sweaty, disgusting mess by the time I got back to work. He didn't have anything going on at work that I needed to be there for, so I didn't have to brave the swelter until I actually left for the day.
It was 102 by the time I left at 4-ish. I made it to Labcorp with just enough time to give my samples before they closed, so that's finally taken care of. My arm feels a bit weak today.
Came home, house was hot, so it took quite some time to get the pulled pork finished up. Had to rest a lot, and make many trips to the bedroom to cool off in the AC there. But the pork was finally ready just before it was time to put the baby to bed. She went down with little fuss, which was nice, and I ate my weight in pork tacos, which I regretted, but it was worth it.
Turned the hot water back on briefly so I could take a shower, then collapsed into bed. M was feeling super chatty, so I ended up staying awake too long. My brain automatically woke up at 6AM again, so I guess that's my new morning time. I lounged in bed for about half an hour before getting too bored and getting up.
Didn't bother trying to be productive this morning. I made the baby's breakfast plate and cleaned a handful of dishes, but it wasn't anything monumental and there's still a goddamn mountain of them taunting me. It's hard to clean with only cold water, so either tomorrow or Saturday I'm going to do a big push in the morning while it's cool, turn the hot water on for a little while, and get the kitchen cleared. M seems to think that paper plates will solve our dish problem, which, no, I cannot cook things on paper plates, but he's determined to give it a try. At least it will cut down on some of the clutter.
Grocery shopping this weekend, and then M and I are planning a date night for Sunday. We both want to see "Sinners", and it's been a minor epoch since we had a movie day together. It'll be nice to get out of the house together again.
